On 14 April 2015 we invited Ir Elvis Au , JP, Assistant Director of the Environmental Protection Department, Hong Kong SAR Government to deliver a talk on “A New Chapter of Waste Treatment and Resource Management”. Zontians shared the most up to date waste managenent policy which included our waste problem, landfill capacity, waste charging and waste management facilities etc.
We also participated in a foodwaste reduction campaign by joining as a supporting organisation of the “FoodEver WasteNever” project organised by the Hong Kong Women Professionals and Entrepreneurs Association. The project was funded by the Environmental Campaign Committe and the Environment and Conservation Fund. On 10 March 2016 President Lilian and Area Director Winnie Wong attended the launch officiated by Mrs Carrie Lam, the Chief Secretary. We will help publicise the programme in our web site and continue to encourage members to participate.
