Over a hundred Zontians and families gathered at the Aberdeen Marine Club to celebrate the 2003 Rose Day on 28th of June. It was an evening of fun and fellowship. We showed off our talents in the all-Zontians arts and craft exhibition, and auctioned homemade food for charity. We were proud that our club won the award for “Best Participation”. After a delicious poolside barbeque, the evening was capped off with a swinging session of line-dance.
The first Area 2 meeting was held in Singapore on 28-29 February 2004. Hong Kong was well represented with 30 delegates including six fellow Zontians from our club. The meeting kicked off with each club presenting its report on the last biennium, followed by an open forum on membership recruiting and maintenance. Resolutions concerning our Area’s representation in District 17 were discussed and passed for submission to the District. In true Zontian spirit, we mixed hard work with sweet fellowship with our sister Zontians from the area as we celebrated Rose Day 2004.
An Area 2 Training Workshop was held in Hong Kong on 15 May 2004. Over 30 members from our area received an afternoon of intensive training from our International Director, Kathleen Yip, and District 17 Governor, Imelda Gomez. Thirteen fellow Zontians from our club participated in the training while eleven joined the fellowship dinner afterwards.
The Zonta Club Golf Society was formed in 2003 for the golf lovers among us.
