Reception and Prize Presentation Ceremony for Hong Kong Spirit Awardees
On Tuesday 5 July 2011, a Reception and Presentation Ceremony was held at the Bankers Club to mark the half term of the current Board of Zonta NT and the finale of the Club’s project to collect the new generation’s views and creative ideas on the Hong Kong Spirit following our “Echoes of the Rainbow” Charity Film Show and Fondly Recognised Hong Kong Brands Award Ceremony in 2010.
A total of 23 entries including essays, songs, porcelain painting and recipes were shortlisted for the Hong Kong Spirit project and the winners were awarded souvenirs at the Presentation Ceremony. The two song entries are the “Hong Kong Spirit Theme Song” composed by Rex Chan and sung by MC Jin and Benji & Lesley and the “Hand in Hand” song composed and sung by MOWA Band. Together, these entries represented positive and insightful views about the Hong Kong spirit and the future of Hong Kong.
Awards were presented by the District Lieutenant Governor Winnie Teoh, District Parliamentarian Kathy Yip, Vice Area Director Vicki Chan, and President Margaret Chan. Zontian Betty Chan was the organizer, and Nancy Chan and Amy Lo were the Mistresses of Ceremony of the event. The event was well participated by NT and sister clubs Zontians and social service partners of the Club.
