Report from Legal Affairs Committee (2018-2020)

Following the amendments to the Zonta International Bylaws and Rules of Procedure as approved at the2018 Zonta International Convention, our Committee has reviewed such amendments against our Club’s Bylaws. Recommendation was then made to the board for some amendments to our Club’s Bylaws which were all duly approved by the board and our members.
Pursuant thereto and the announcement of the Zonta International Biennial Goals, the Terms of Reference as prepared by our Committee in the 2016-2018 biennium for the core Committees of our club were reviewed and updated for the 2018-2020 Biennium. Such Terms of Reference for the Membership Committee, Fund Raising Committee, Service Committee, Advocacy Committee, and Z and Golden Z Committee were all completed and approved by the respective committee co-chairs and the board and placed in implementation.
Separately with the amendments to the Zonta District 17 By-laws as approved at the 2019 Zonta District 17 Conference, our Committee has carefully studied the amendments and reviewed again our Club’s By- laws. We then submitted a proposal to the board on amendments to our Club’s By- laws. We were pleased that our proposal was approved in its entirety by the board and our members.
