Report from Membership and Classification Committee (2002 – 2004)
Co-chairmen: Yvonne Chua, Elizabeth Law
We are pleased to report that our membership for the current term 2002-2004 has increased from 39 to 42. Four new members from different business sectors have joined us. They are:
Margaret Chan Law Yuk Lin, Assistant Principal of St. Stephen’s Girls’ College
Nancy Chan, General Manager, Group Human Resources – Personnel Services, Jardine Matheson Limited
Lili Tsang Suet Lai, Principal of Danse A Lili Ballet Academie
Wong Wai Sum, Executive Director of Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation
We are most pleased to see that our latest members in particular Margaret and Nancy have been actively participating in our social service projects and they together with Lili and Wai Sum will all be taking significant roles in different committees for our forthcoming term.
Whilst we regret to receive the resignation of Fanny Ko, we understand this was due to personal reason and we are happy that she will continue her support to us by being “Friend of Zonta NT”.
At the same time, in our endeavour to foster the bondage of our existing members to our Club, we have held special luncheons on small group basis with those few Zontians who, owing to their heavy travel commitments or work load have not been able to attend regularly our meetings. We thank them for their continued caring concern for the Club and are delighted to have received their assurance that they hope to resume their active participation soon.
We have also maintained contacts with “Friends of Zonta NT” and were extremely delighted to have Dora Hung joining one of our social service meetings.
Finally, on reclassification, following the changes adopted by Zonta International on classification of occupations and the setting of new code list, we have revised the classification codes of all our members accordingly.
We are all proud to be members of Zonta NT and will continue to work towards the growth of our Club.
